Sanitary pads are made from a variety of raw materials, including: Absorbent core The core of the pad that absorbs menstrual fluid. It's usually made from cellulose, rayon, wood pulp, airlaid paper, or superabsorbent polymers (SAP). Top sheet The layer that touches the skin. It's usually made from non-woven fabrics or soft, breathable materials like cotton. Back sheet The outer layer that prevents leakage. It's usually made from waterproof materials like polyethylene or polypropylene. Adhesive Keeps the pad in place. It's usually made from hypoallergenic materials to avoid skin irritation. Packaging Protects the pad from contamination and moisture. It's usually made from plastic or paper. Release paper Protects the adhesive on the back of the pad before use. It's non-stick on one side and is removed when the pad is applied.
