Application
Wash your hands before opening the pad. Remove the pad from the wrapper. Peel off the adhesive strip on the back. Stick the pad to the inside of your underwear (center it properly). If the pad has wings, peel their stickers and wrap the wings around the sides of the underwear. Wear your underwear normally and adjust for comfort. Change the pad every 4 6 hours (or more often if needed). Wrap the used pad in paper or the wrapper and throw it in a bin do not flush. Wash your hands again after disposal.

Soft topsheet + breathable material to avoid skin irritation or rashes, especially if worn for hours.
Secure fit (good adhesive + wings) to prevent shifting and leaks when walking, sitting or sleeping.
Absorbency capacity ensure the pad is designed for heavy flow if you're buying XL/ultra for that reason; else you may not need XL.
Comfort vs Bulk even though many "ultra" pads are thin, some XL pads can still feel bulky than regular ones; choose as per comfort.
Change frequency despite high absorbency, changing pads regularly (every 4-6 hours approx) is often recommended for hygiene and comfort.
